So this blog might be creating some kind of a conflict of interest with the Newsletter, especially since both will be incorporated into the WAC website. Hence, maybe we should consider what kind of content we want in each before we really start updating this Blog seriously. My suggestions are as follows: 1) Updates to the workshop schedule, 2) Meeting Notes from Wednesdays, 3) Impressions from the Workshops; formal and informal, 4) profiles of one of the workshop faculty at some steady interval, 5) posts incorporating news articles, op-ed, etc., that would be of interest to the WAC community.
What do you think Julie? Rest of you?

I agree that we need to figure out what information should go where, but first I think we need to determine who the audience of the blog will be so we make sure our content is appropriate. For example, if students and faculty are going to be reading this, then we shouldn't be posting our notes...
...good point. My impression during last Wednesday's meeting was that it was directed mainly at an internal audience, i.e., the WAC faculty, fellows, and coordinators, and that the content should in some way be informative to students/faculty that are not affiliated with the program as well. It would be good to hear what Jack and Penny think about this. Also, Melis, how did Baruch do this?
very good point about deciding who we believe our audience will be for the blog. I imagine that this is not meant to be internal use only, so we would need to include content that is useful for outside viewers, either faculty or students, or both. Things such as useful texts are a useful element. I also believe it can/should have an internal function, so those other suggestions are great as well.
